This past weekend I had the pleasure of working with a very talented band called The Bynars. Hailing from Boston, MA The Bynars are a mix of sounds comparable to Weezer, The Cars and The Knack. My early introduction to this band stemmed from a great love for lead singer Matt Jatkola’s solo project under the simple name “Matt J.” If you haven’t heard him already, I highly suggest coming across his album “Disgusting Kissez.” Other band members Ben Mettey, Kiel Szivos and Mike Champ came together and really pulled out a great video. Their music really inspired me to create something fun with a bit of a story. With their new album “Party All Nite” dropping last night, the world is sure to get more of The Bynars in the near future.
I really want to take a second of this blog to thank Ian Sutton of Icarus Frames – our clown – for being such an amazing actor. Even though he had so much work to do building his beautiful bikes, he took time out to take orders from me all day. He quoted me multiple times saying “Stand there!” “Walk that way!” “Is that where you are going to be?” “Don’t move!” and throughout the entire process he never got Hollywood on me. His patience and willingness to help out was very admirable and I really can’t thank him enough. Do me a favor and buy one of his frames, okay?

This was a great experience for me being that it was my first major music video doing everything from the conception to editing the final piece. It also gave me the opportunity to use my new camera for the first time! Shot on the Canon 5D Mark II with a Sigma 70-200/2.8 and a Canon 17-40/4.0, it really made for some nice images – very happy with it. I have some more music videos on the horizon and I am really excited to work more and more with bands to help represent their music!
Check out the WORKS page for the full video (among a few others)!
Cheers!
